Hello everyone! Today I’m going to talk about art.
In my spare time I love exploring the city and attending fun events. It is home to many galleries, art fairs and gigs. In this article I’m going to share my personal experience when it comes to purchasing artwork.
When I first started my journey I thought art was unaffordable and hardly accessible. I was lucky enough to speak with early-career artists at some exhibitions and I discovered that art can be affordable and open to everyone.
- Set a budget
Art of any kind such as painting, photography and sculpture can varied in price, starting as little as £50 to thounds of pounds. If you have spare time to search and explore places, this might be a fun journey.
Once you’ve decided on how you much you might want to spend, you can use a gallery finder to search for the kind of work you’re most interested in.
An interesting thing I learnt some galleries offer interest-free loans.
2. Art as an investment
One way to know how much you could spend on art is to allocate a small percentage of your overall portfolio.
If you have £50,000 in total, the budget for art could be £1,000. This represents 2% of your total portfolio.
Searching for art is a fun journey, I spoke with talented artists, and I was learning too. Thats’ the whole pleasure.
When I purchased my first photography, I didn’t think about the value going up or down in future. I enjoy looking at it and that’s the most important think when I purchased it.
