Hello everyone! Today I’m going to talk about ski rental. I’ll try to explain how to get the best value between renting and purchasing your own equipment.

Ski trips are fun and they come with lots of extras, spendings such ski pass, equipment and food.

I’ll try to share what I’ve seen and experienced so far, it’s worth considering that each country and resort come with its own offers, and they may vary in prices from one place to another.

Here’s my budget for a ski day:

  • Ski rental: 50 euros / day including boots, pools and skis.
  • Ski pass : 64 euros / day including insurance
  • Hot chocolate : 5 euros
  • Lunch at the restaurant : 25 euros

Now we know how much ski rental costs, let’s have a look at ski prices if we want to purchase them instead. If you ever walk in a ski shop, you’ll probably notice there are many different type of ski and boots. They can come as different type of activities -touring and slopes essentially, brands and prices.

Let’s take a look at something called “all-moutains” which means they can be used for all type of snow and conditions. They’re very fun and practical, it can prevent the headache of choosing your own ski style if you don’t have one yet.

Those skis can go for 1,000 euros including the bidings and pools.

As you’ve noticed it takes 10 days of ski rental to match the purchasing price of your own skis.

In my opinion it’s worth purchasing your own equipment if you go skiing every year. Today’s equipment are high quality materials, they are reliable and last for years if taken care of.

I hope you enjoy reading those holiday tips, I’ve only been to a few ski resorts and if you think there are better deals out there, feel free to drop a message.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
