Hello everyone! Today I’m going to talk about how to invest in crypto funds inside in ISAs.

In this article you’ill find a step by step guide how to add cryptos products in ISAs.

As per usual, this is not financial advice. If you’re unsure about anything, it’s worth seeking advice from a regulated financial advisor.

New rules were announced to UK investors they will be able to add crypto products in ISAs via exchange traded notes (ETN) which function the same way as ETF.

Here’s the key takeaway:

  • Available for current tax year 2025/2026 only.
  • After 6 April 2026 the funds will be moved to a specific tax wrapper called Innovative Finance ISA.

It’s worth noting that innovative finance ISA is not covered by the UK’s Financial Services Compensation Schemes. It means that if something goes wrong, you may not recover your money.

Now we know the new framework for crypto funds. Here’s a step-by-step guide how to proceed:

  1. Speak with your investment platform to see if the products are available.
  2. Open an Innovative Finance ISA.
  3. Complete a “fit and proper”.

Now I’ve selected two crypto fund managers worth looking into if you’re still interested in.

Manager: Wisdom Tree
Currency: US dollars
Ticker: BTCW LN (if you’re lucky enough to have access to Bloomberg terminal)
ISIN: GB00BJYDH287
ISA / SIPP eligible: Yes
Fees: 0.15%

Manager: Black Rock
Currency: US dollars
Bloomberg ticker: IB1T LN
ISIN: XS2940466316
ISA eligible: Yes
Fund start date: March 2025
Fund size $660m in November 2025
Fee: 0.15%

The exciting news about crypto funds, in my opinion, is that the fees are as low as traditional ETF.

I hope you enjoy reading this post. Drop me a line if you want to discuss this further. Cheers!
